Overview:

Bio-Botanica is a family-owned and operated company specializing in botanicals for over 50 years. We are a leading manufacturer of 500 quality botanical extracts for the cosmetic, dietary supplement, food, and beverage industries. Under the direction of the Purchasing Director, the Buyer is responsible for assisting with purchasing, tracking, and maintaining the inventory. Also, responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality of product produced.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Qualifying suppliers by considering price, quality, availability, and other criteria as specified.
• Purchasing raw materials, packaging components, industrial materials, and printed components.
• Confirming purchase order specifications, pricing, shipment status.
• Maintaining purchasing data integrity of Lead Times, MOQ, Vendor Data, etc.
• Tracking daily status of incoming materials, inventory levels.
• Handling returns, creating change controls as needed.
• Reviewing COAs, COCs and working with the Warehouse and Quality Teams to be sure documentation is in place.
• Understanding of raw material requirements, raw material sourcing, allergenic statements and MSDS, etc. preferred.
• Collaborating effectively with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Quality, Production, Manufacturing, and Accounting.
• Following SOPs, cGMP, Quality, Safety Rules, and Food Safety and Food Defense practices as required.
• Working independently, troubleshooting as needed, and sourcing as required.
• Multitasking, and meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
• Attending industry trade shows and meeting suppliers in and outside the office
• Complying with company policies and procedures and maintaining regular in-office work attendance.
• Adhering to Bio-Botanica’s values, maintaining positive communications and relationships with suppliers
• “Hands On” attitude and willing to perform other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience / Training / Skill:

• 3-5 yrs. Purchasing experience in the manufacturing of dietary supplements/pharmaceuticals preferred.
• SAP experience highly preferred, but will train the right individual with ERP experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office/Excel.
• In office-only position.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $27.00 - $29.83 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 24 per week
